Welcome to my Creativity Lab

Typography • Product Design & Packaging • screen printing • Laser Engraving • And more!

This is where you’ll find random personal projects I’ve worked on throughout my life. Enjoy!

Kinetic Typography

College Project (2017)

Goal: To take a scene from a movie and make it come to life through typography using Adobe After Effects.

Skills used: Adobe After Effects, typography + layout design, basic principles of design, problem solving, patience (lots of patience)

What I learned: I was happy with how this project turned out and proud of myself as this was my first time experimenting with Adobe After Effects. I’d give myself a solid 6/10.

Personalized Zodiac Plaque + Packaging

Personal Project (2020)

Goal: To take a popular concept like zodiacs and create a well-designed, high-end product people would happily display.

Skills used:

  • Research & development to understand the competition and create a product

  • Innovation to redesign something that already exists (in a better way!)

  • Problem solving (lots of it!)

  • Programs like Procreate, Adobe Photoshop, Cricut (this was actually my first Cricut project)

  • Marketing/social media

What I learned: This was the first project where I actually created a whole new product from start to finish, including concepting, designing, prototyping, packaging, photographing - the whole nine yards! Ultimately, it was a failed project because I realized the quality of my product and pricing didn’t match what the target market was willing to pay, plus there was a lot of competition.

The plaque could be personalized with a name and three adjectives.

Contents of the gift box.

Social media graphics to announce the product launch. Use the arrows to scroll through the graphics.

Screen Prints

College class (2016)

Goal: We had to create our own custom design - the main stipulations were the number of layers the prints had to have and the number of editions (or copies).

Skills used: Screen printing, layout + design, typography, color theory, again - lots of patience

What I learned: Screen printing is fun! I actually took it concurrently with a letterpress class, and these are true art forms that take a lot of patience to execute but the results are worth it. I would love to incorporate screen printing more into my personal work.

Lana del Rey inspired a lot of my art throughout college.

A play on the Chanel logo using Glen Coco from Mean Girls.

A play on the Louis Vuitton logo using Lord Voldemort from Harry Potter.

Laser Engraving

Personal Project

Goal: To learn how to use a laser engraving machine & see if I liked it since my brother uses one for his business.

Skills used: laser engraving machine operation, Lightburn software, typography, layout + design

What I learned: Laser engraving is a cool art form, but I’m not sure if it’s quite my lane. It’s quite the process depending on how complex your piece is (i.e. sanding, gluing, staining, etc.)

Engraving on walnut

Three types of wood (walnut, cherry, basswood)
